FAQ 7: How can I be sure that my personal information will be kept secure?

Click to verify that PaymentKey is a member of the BBBOnline Reliability Program.
Answer 7: First, a common misconception about PaymentKey is that we take payments from you, charge a fee, or ever take your credit card number. WE DO NOT. We only pay you. You never make payments to us.

For example, if you want to use PaymentKey to get Shopping Cash-back from Wal-mart.com, you would login to PaymentKey.com, click on the Wal-mart logo, and then you go to Wal-mart.com's website and make your purchase there, totally separately from PaymentKey.com. Then Wal-mart sends us a commission for your purchase, and we split it with you!
Within the PaymentKey.com website

On the Internet, people are commonly worried about giving out personal information. This is understandable. With PaymentKey.com you have no reason for concern. PaymentKey has taken careful steps to ensure that all your personal information is kept secure.
7.1. We will never  share any your personal information with anyone  else. Please read our Privacy Policy.
7.2. Your personal information is kept secure with 128-bit SSL encryption, plus a host of other advanced security features.
7.3. We are a member of the BBBOnline Reliability Program. Click on the image to the left to verify.

Using ad offer links that direct you outside the PaymentKey.com website

When you click on an ad offer, you are sent to the advertiser's website outside of the PaymentKey.com website. Each of these ad offers has:
7.4 systems or guarantees of information security (using for examples SSL certificate authentication, BBBOnline membership, Verisign membership, etc.), and…
7.5 a way for you to verify the authenticity and safety of each website -- just as we already and carefully have done for each ad offer.

However, if for some reason you don't trust a particular advertiser's credentials, then you are always free to move on to the next PaymentKey ad offer.

Let's use as an example the ad offer from Revolution MoneyExchange ("RME") in your Ad Offers page. Click on the banner ad. A new page opens. This is RME's website. There is no connection between RME and PaymentKey's website other than the tracking code discussed in FAQ 16 and 6. RME is just an advertiser with PaymentKey just like you'd see on Yahoo or wherever.

Now, on the RME Web page, after clicking the "Sign up now" link, you will see the yellow padlock image . The location of the padlock depends on which browser you are using. means that the Web page is secure with an authenticated SSL certificate and is not fraudulent nor spoofed. Click here for a good, not too complicated explanation on how to use SSL and certificates to verify that a Web page is not fraudulent. (.pdf, Acrobat required)

Some ad offer websites do not display the yellow padlock, but instead give you security from other organizations such as those shown on the left. You can click on each of these logos for an explanation of how each helps ensure that your information is kept secure.
